Arrival at the Kilimanjaro Airport, Arusha. You are met by our representative and transferred to the Keys Hotel, Moshi. Overnight at the Keys Hotel, Moshi. Bed and breakfast
Breakfast at the Keys Hotel, Moshi. You link up with your Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking crew. You have a gear check on your Mount Kilimanjaro Trekking gear. Soon thereafter, you are picked up and transferred to the Marangu Gate (1980 metres) of Mount Kilimanjaro to commence your Kilimanjaro Trek. Commence the Hike through the edge of the a stream through the undergrowth. The habitat here is montane forest and the trek today takes 5 hours. Arrival at Mandara Hut ( 2700 metres). Overnight at Mandara Hut. Full board
Breakfast. Your trek starts at the forest habitat and transists to moorland vegetation. Trek on to the base of Maundi Crater, trek to the Maundi Crater Rim to enjoy breathtaking views of the Kibo Crater, at a distance. You will encounter the moorland vegetation of giant lobelia and giant groundsels. Today, you trek for 6 hours and onto Horombo Hut ( 3720 metres). Dinner and overnight at Horombo Hut. Full board
Today is your acclimatisation day. Here at Horomobo Hut you meet with ascending and descending hikers and exchange experiences. To enhance the acclimatisation goal today you take a 3 hour trek to towards the Mawenzi Hut via Zebra Rocks. Remmber to drink plenty of water and walk slowly. Overnight at Horombo Hut. Full board
Breakfast. Commence the trek today which takes you 6 hours. You will encounter the Alpine Desert habitat. Your route is the left hand fork to the Saddle of Mount Kilimanjaro. You reach Kibo Hut (4700 metres). Prepare your equipment for the forthcoming Mount Kilimnjaro Summit bid including the head lamp, cameras, batteries, ski stick and thermal clothing; among others. Sleep early. Overnight at the Kibo Hut. Full board
Take the mid-night trek to the Summit of Africa, Uhuru Peak ( 5895 metres). The trek today takes 14 hours through stone scree and ice capped summit habitat. The first section of the trail consists of a rocky path to Hans Meyer Cave ( 5150 metres). This is also a good resting spot. The path zigzags to the Gilman's Point ( 5681 metres), it is located on the Crater Rim. This section is very steep and is the most demanding for the entire trek; thus demanding for a lot of physical and mental effort. Trek onto to the Uhuru Peak; the roof of Africa. Enjoy the feat by taking some photos and some cheer. Take the 3 hour descent to the Kibo Hut for some rest. Later, take a further 3 hour trek back to the Horombo Hut. Overnight at the Horombo Hut. Breakfast. Take the 6 hour descent to Marangu Gate. It is here that hikers receive their Kilimanjaro Climbing cerificates with thoose who reach the Gilman's Point receiving a green certificated and those reaching the Summit getting a golden certificate. Link up with your driver/ guide for the transfer back to the Keys Hotel, Moshi. Overnight at Keys Hotel. Half board
Breakfast. You are picked up and transferred to the Airport for the schedulled flight to Kampala, Uganda via Nairobi. On arrival at the Entebbe Airport, you are met and transffered to the Boma Hotel, near the Airport. Check in at the facility. Overnight at the Boma Hotel. Breakfast
Breakfast. You link up with your driver/guide and commence your Uganda Expedition. Arrival at the Mantana Tented Camp at the Lake Mburo National Park for check in and lunch. Enjoy an afternoon boat ride on Lake Mburo with an opportunity to spot some birds and schools of hippos. Dinner and overnight at the Mantana Lake Mburo Tented Camp. Full board
Enjoy an early morning nature walk at Lake Mburo National Park. Here, you spot giraffes, elephants, antelopes and birds. Later, return to the Lodge for breakfast and depart for the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. You have lunch at a local restaurant en route. Continue to the Engagi Lodge, Bwindi. It is located on the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park near the Park offices. Dinner and overnight at the Engagi Lodge, Bwindi. Full board
Arise early and prepare for the upcoming adventure. You will come face to face with the endangered Mountain Gorillas with only about 700 remaining in the world. After breakfast, you are transferred to the Park offices and are allocated a gorilla family, a tracking guide and a tracking group to join. Your guide will brief you on the dos and donts of the gorilla trekking expediton. You are then driven to the trailhead and commence your amazing adventure.
The time taken to search for a Mountain Gorilla can vary between 2 to 8 hours; hiking in some tough condions, sometimes muddy, steep sometimes with rain overhead. However, the pleasure of coming face to face with the gentle giants of Bwidi for the allowed one hour is one of the genuinely breathtaking wildlife encounters you may ever have. Later, you link up with your driver/guide and are transferred back to the Lodge to relax.
You may undertake an afternoon optional visit to a Batwa Pygmy traditional village. The Batwa are traditional peoples who still live within their cultures. Dinner and overnight at the Engagi Lodge, Bwindi. Full board
Breakfast. Depart Bwindi with your packed lunches to the Queen Elizabeth National Park; via her Southern Ishasha area that is famous for black maned tree climbing lions. You also encounter elephants, buffalos and plenty of plains game in your Northbound adventure. Take a Launch Cruise at the Kazinga Channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George and enjoy the afternoon game viewing drive from the water. Later, proceed to the Katara Lodge, Queen Elizabeth. Dinner and overnight at the Katara Lodge, Queen Elizabeth. Full board
